One session takes 60 or 90 minutes.
Start of the session
We start the session with a short dialogue, sitting on a chair.
First we take time to meet, and talk about what is alive in you at that specific moment. Together we find out if there is a specific reason or intention for you to come to this session.
After this you lay down on the massage table, with a blanket covering your body (clothes off, except your underwear).
I will touch your body with my hands. Using soft, exploring and intuitive touch I will connect with your upper- and lowerbody. Whilst touching your body I will also be reading the subtle changes of your breath, looking at (subtle) movements in your body and observe the way the body has shaped itself. I might give you some feedback using words. You get the chance to relax more and breathe deeper.
During the session I am holding space for you.
This “term” sounds wonderful, but what does it mean exactly?
I still haven’t found the best and complete explanation for the term “holding space”.
But, I will share with you my best way to explain this:
I am giving you all the space. I am keeping this space for you and in this safe setting everything that wants to come to the surface is welcome.
I will guide you in a loving, non-judgemental and safe way.
In the sessions I have no goal, no rush, no agenda, no standard questions, and most important, I have no judgement. It is all about you.
During the session, you are invited to express anything like sensations, feelings, emotions and thoughts. It can be quite challenging sometimes to find the words to express yourself. That is completely normal. I will support you in an open, loving and intuitive way.
In this dialogue with touch and words I will guide you to get more in touch with your body and your inner reality.
End of the session
In the last part and ending of your session we will go back to the chair. We finish with a short conversation about your session.
We don’t talk too much, this is to support you to stay connected with your own inner process and your feelings.
After the session I recommend you to have some time for yourself to feel what your own needs are.
“Bodywork is “processwork”.
This means that during the sessions, but also in the days or weeks after, your body & mind are processing your experience. This is part of your process.
After multiple sessions, you can often reach deeper layers and gain new insights. The hormone oxytocine releases earlier and faster in your body after multiple sessions.
I recommend multiple sessions, with a minimum of 7 days in between.
The days in between are important for integration and processing.
